🌱 Sustainable Cuba: Stories from Communities 🎬.
Join us in celebrating Cuba’s efforts in sustainability and climate action! This year’s short film competition highlights community initiatives that make a positive impact on the environment.
📌 Competition Categories
1️⃣ Community Climate Action Projects
Create a film of 10 minutes or less that showcasing climate action initiatives led by individuals, community centers, or local groups. This can include projects at a school, community center, or on an individual level, or stories about local “climate heroes” who are making a positive environmental impact. Highlight how these actions tackle climate change and foster a more sustainable, resilient community.
2️⃣ Sustainable Agriculture & Organic Farming
This category invites films that demonstrate sustainable agriculture and organic farming practices aimed at nurturing a healthy planet. Submissions should focus on practical solutions—like improving soil health, reducing chemical use, and conserving resources—that contribute to sustainable food systems and build resilience against climate change.
3️⃣ Youth Leadership in Environmental Education
This category focuses on stories of young people and communities leading initiatives in environmental sustainability and climate education, highlighting the importance of biodiversity, climate awareness, and active participation in local communities. Submissions should showcase youth-driven projects.
🏆 Jury and prizes:
🥇 1 Gold Award: Plaque + €450
🥈 1 Silver Award: Plaque + €250
🥉 3 Bronze Prizes : Plaque + €50
🏅 The winning short films will be screened at:
🎞 Havana Film Festival – Glasgow
🎞 Montrose LandXSea Festival
📍 Winners and finalists will be invited to an award ceremony in Havana.

📜 Entry Requirements
✅ Duration: 10 minutes or less
✅ Language: Must include transcript or English subtitles
✅ Format: HD or 4K high-definition video
Animations welcome!
We also accept animation videos in any category, as long as they meet the length and subject matter requirements.
