As Cuba grapples with economic hardship, blackouts, and the continuing impact of U.S. sanctions, a group of international solidarity activists travel to the island as part of the Convoy Nuestra América. Among them is Suzel, an Irish-Cuban teenager eager to connect with her father’s homeland and contribute in whatever way she can.
Through visits to hospitals, community projects, and centres for older adults, the delegation encounters the realities of daily life in Cuba. Along the way, this documentary highlights, through a series of short interviews, the voices of healthcare workers, community leaders, activists, and ordinary citizens, offering a firsthand look at the challenges facing the country and the people living through them.
More than a story of survival, this film is a portrait of resilience, dignity, and human connection, revealing the faces behind the headlines and the enduring spirit of solidarity that unites people across borders.
