Bringing Art to Life – a talk by Cuban animator Ivette Ávila Martín

Cuban animator Ivette Ávila Martín will talk about her socially engaged working methods in Cuba, where she creates stop-motion animation with minimal resources with children and adults as well as producing her own animated work for clients. She will be joined by Mexican animator Cristina Ertze who is based in Scotland.

Ivette Ávila Martín MSc.
Animation Professor at the School of Arts of the Audiovisual Communication Media (FAMCA), University of the Arts (ISA). Founder of Cucurucho Productions. Collaborates with the Animation Studios of the Cuban Institute of Cinema Art and Industry (ICAIC), and the Cuban Radio and Television Institute (ICRT). Founder and director of the Children’s Audiovisual Festival “La Espiral” (V Editions) and the International event “Animation Days in Havana” (III Editions). Founder of the Animaluz Academy and the art and disability event ¨Art without barriers¨.
